Michelle Hall : Bronzes
Growing up in Somerset with an artistic family background, Hall soon developed her own artistic identity shaped by love of animals and the countryside.
Hall’s work begins through a process of photography, drawing from life and making experimental maquettes. Original sculptures are constructed using traditional materials such as clay, wax, plaster and often incorporate found objects. A mould is made from the original and finished pieces are made from ceramics, bronze and cold cast bronze.
Through sculptural practice, Hall seeks to celebrate natural forms, capturing the vitality, essence and presence of the creatures depicted; a tangible glimpse of the natural world.
Hall hopes to convey the importance of the relationship between animals, humans and the environment
