Come and see us in Dartmouth!

The port of Dartmouth, South Devon, is a beautiful town steeped in history and naval heritage. Its quaint, narrow, flower lined streets house some charming boutiques and delicatessens, along with galleries and plenty of places to enjoy a Devon cream tea! An original cobbled market plays host to vibrant stalls and farmers markets who supply local pubs and gourmet restaurants with their delicious local produce. What better way to walk off a hearty meal than along the banks of the stunning River Dart as it winds its way up towards the town of Totnes.

Things to do

Dartmouth and its surroundings offer a multitude of activities, from sailing and fishing to exploring the miles of coastal paths leading to beautiful beaches and National Trust gardens. The kids haven't been forgotten with many local pleasure parks and perhaps the best crabbing conditions in the area! The towns history is also all too obvious, as you stroll the streets the ancient buildings lean over you and the towns castles offer a fine insight into the past. All of this with the famous Brittania Royal Naval College standing magnificently on the hill looking over the town.

Royal Regatta

Once a year Dartmouth is transformed from a peaceful yet vibrant town into a place larger than life itself! Of course the origins of the Regatta are purely waterbourne, and many sailing and rowing races still take place in the river, and in the bay out to sea. To add to these 'traditional' events there are now street markets, a fairground, competitions for kids and adults alike and many air displays including the world famous RAF Red Arrows. However for many people the most special parts of the week are the two 'Grand Firework Displays' which captivate the hundreds of people lining the harbour side to watch them. - The Regatta is always held in the week containing the last Thursday in August, so if you fancy a visit its a very popular time to come!
